David was born in Sheffield. He was the Labour MP for Sheffield Brightside until 2015 and was the former Education and Employment Secretary, Home Secretary and Work and Pensions Secretary.
“I am a convert. I have been pressurized for years by my close friend Paul Potts, Chief Executive of the Press Association and a fellow Sheffielder. Eventually, although I do not like spicy sauces and have never been a fan of splashing tomato sauce or relishes over anything, I tried it. It is superb – it goes particularly well with Shepherd’s Pie.
“When I was on the F word with Gordon Ramsay ( stopping him swearing) I had this challenge – could I beat him at Shepherd’s pie. I made one big mistake, I didn’t put enough Hendersons relish in it!”
