  • What is Henderson's Relish used for?

    You can use Henderson’s as a table sauce and ingredient. From home-cooked, family meals to Michelin starred creations, our blend of tamarinds, cayenne peppers, vinegar, garlic and cloves adds a unique, spicy flavour to any dish.

    Splash it on pies, in stews, over chips, cheese on toast or simply stir it into your favourite recipes. Use it in sauces and gravies, marinades and salad dressings. Bloody Mary cocktails too.

  • Does Henderson's Relish contain gluten?

    No! We’ve been certified as Gluten Free by the Coeliac Society and proudly display their Crossed Grain symbol across all of our packaging.

  • Is Henderson's Relish suitable for vegans and vegetarians?

    Yes, we’ve been approved by The Vegetarian Society as suitable for vegans and vegetarians. You can spot their logo on our label.

  • Does Henderson's Relish contain any allergens?

    Nope! Henderson’s Relish contains no allergens.

  • When was Henderson's Relish first produced?

    Henry Henderson blended the first batch of this famous Relish in Sheffield in 1885.

  • How many people know the secret recipe?

    The secret recipe is only known to three of the family members.

  • Where can I buy Henderson's Relish?

  • Is Henderson's Relish the same as Worcestershire Sauce?

    No! Henderson’s Relish has been made in Sheffield since 1885. It’s made to a secret family recipe, and has its own unique taste.

    Unlike Worcestershire Sauce, Henderson’s Relish has no allergens, so is suitable for vegans and vegetarians as it contains no fish. And it’s gluten free!

    In some countries we market Henderson’s as Worcestershire Sauce, but we agree with Matt Helders from Sheffield band the Arctic Monkeys, who describes Henderson’s Relish as ‘Like Worcestershire sauce, but one million times better!’

  • How long does Henderson's Relish keep for?

    We have to include a best before date but we know our Relish ages like a fine wine and only gets better. Pop a bottle away for a few years and come back to it, you won’t regret it.

  • Is your packaging recyclable?

    Yes, all of our packaging is widely recyclable.

  • What volumes can I buy Henderson's Relish in?

    We do our traditional 284ml bottle, our smaller 142ml bottle and a mini 31ml bottle. We also sell a litre bottle which is perfect for refilling empties or for those who require a larger amount.

  • Do you do collaborations or custom labels?

    We do love a limited edition label and some of them have gone on to become very collectable, however we are unable to say yes to every request due to production implications.

  • What's the best thing to put Henderson's Relish on?

    You can splash it on pies, stews, chips and cheese on toast, or stir it in to your favourite family recipes. Henderson’s Relish adds flavour to meat, fish and vegetables. It’s even great in salad dressings and Bloody Mary cocktails.
