Another Touch of Relish
William Arthur Morley, 3rd July 2008
If your food is only tasting bland,
We’d like you all to understand,
That help is really close at hand,
Another touch of Relish.
It adds so much to corned beef hash,
Your food will really cut a dash,
Experimenting with sausage and mash,
Those flavours to embellish.
To stop that hot pot tasting dry,
Or add much more to your steak pie,
You’ll give those chefs one in the eye,
With Henderson’s mighty relish.
They may just shout, “Oy, what’s the game”,
‘Cos their grub just won’t taste the same,
But they’ve only got themselves to blame,
Forgetting Henderson’s Relish.
We simply wouldn’t like to brag,
Not having tried it with chitterlings and bag,
Or yet having sent some to Brobdignag,
They haven’t yet tried our relish.
There are one or two ex-Sheffield folk,
As star on film down in the smoke,
Like Palin and Bean, that real ‘Sharpe’ bloke,
Who swear by Henderson’s Relish.
So get that shopping list done mum,
We’re running out we’ll soon need some,
You’ll never see us looking glum,
Nor make your life quite hellish,
With another drop of relish.
(Only Henderson’s though)
